This study has a single goal; to examine a handful of terms and general meanings of Christian phrases as defined by today’s Christian community, and do so in the pure light and context of Scripture. This study will be presented without reference to popular commentaries and other reference materials that present, advocate and/or defend particular denominational positions.
There will be direct quotations from other texts for the purpose of stating the current teaching and interpretations, but there will be little occasion when references are made to the positions of other Bible teachers. I certainly feel no special anointing or ability that elevates my thinking above the multitudes of great Bible teachers and theologians in the ministry of Jesus Christ. I simply choose to limit this study and its input to what the Holy Spirit has revealed to me from my study of the Word of God.
